Mit THE WRONG GALLERY führt Andreas Slominski seine gleichnamige zweiteilige Ausstellung von 2004 fort. Die von Maurizio Cattelan, Massimiliano Gioni und Ali Subotnick gegründete Galerie
The Wrong Gallery war von 2002 bis 2005 in der West 20th Street im bekannten New Yorker Galeriestadtteil Chelsea angesiedelt und zeigte über 40 Ausstellungen namhafter internationaler Künstler. Die Galerie bestand aus einer verschlossenen Glastür mit einem dahinter liegenden ca. 1 qm großen Raum.
Für seine Ausstellung in The Wrong Gallery ließ Andreas Slominski die Glastür der Galerie ausbauen und von New York nach Hamburg transportieren. Dort wurde sie für einen einzigen Tag in der Produzentengalerie Hamburg ausgestellt, bevor sie nach Chelsea zurückkehrte. Der sonst verschlossene Galerieraum in New York blieb während dieser Zeit offen und ungeschützt. Die Zeitspanne zwischen Ausbau und Wiedereinbau der Tür entsprach der Ausstellungsdauer.
Die Edition The Wrong Gallery Door ist der Nachbau der Glastür im Verhältnis 1:6.

Andreas Slominski’s exhibition, THE WRONG GALLERY is a continuation of the two part eponymous exhibition from 2004. Located at West 20th Street in Chelsea, in the famous gallery district of New York City, The Wrong Gallery was founded by Maurizio Cattelan, Massimiliano Gioni and Ali Subotnick and had over 40 exhibitions of well-known international artists. The gallery consisted of one locked glass door with a space of approximately one square metre behind it.
For his exhibition at The Wrong Gallery Slominski removed the glass door and transported it from New York City to Hamburg. There it was shown for one day at the Produzentengalerie Hamburg before it was shipped back to Chelsea. During this time, the gallery space in New York City was left open and unprotected. The period between the removal and reinstallation of the door corresponded to the duration of the exhibition.
The edition, The Wrong Gallery Door is the replication of the glass door at a ratio from 1:6.
